Terms and conditions

RK Tutoring provides tutoring and study materials for university students aged 18 and over. These terms apply to our website, app, students and authorised administrators. By requesting a booking, you agree to these terms and the conditions shown for that class.

Keep your account details accurate and your login and invitation links private. Use only your own account and bookings. Our Privacy policy explains how we handle personal information.

Public class requests need tutor approval. Wait for approval before paying. Attendance is confirmed when the tutor records full booking payment and confirms your place. Meeting links are available to confirmed, paid participants.

Review the class price, schedule and cancellation conditions before booking. Prices are in South African rand and times use South African time, UTC+2. Changes to agreed bookings must be communicated and agreed where required.

V1 payments and refunds happen outside the app. The app only records them. Each booking or separate materials charge is payable in full; V1 does not manage instalments or subscriptions. Future in-app payments will have updated terms and privacy information before use.

Contact the tutor to cancel, reschedule or request a refund. Your booking's cancellation conditions apply, subject to South African consumer law. Cancellation does not automatically refund a payment. Any cancellation charge must be lawful and reasonable.

If we cancel or materially change a class, we will arrange a suitable alternative or the refund or other remedy required by law. The app's refund-recording limits do not restrict your legal rights, including any applicable cooling-off or partial-refund rights.

Class materials may be included or charged separately. Access needs payment of the relevant charge and release by the tutor. Paid, unrefunded materials access has no scheduled expiry in V1 and normally continues after attendance is cancelled. This is not a promise of permanent hosting.

Refunding a charge covering materials removes that materials access. A booking-only refund does not remove separately paid, unrefunded materials access. Access may also be restricted to correct an error, address misuse or comply with law.

Materials and RK Tutoring branding belong to their respective owners. Use materials for your own study. Do not resell, publish or share restricted files or links without permission, except where the law allows it.

Respect others, follow your university's academic-integrity rules and do not misuse accounts, share private meeting links or bypass access controls. Obtain the required permission before recording a class. Administrators must keep student information confidential and records accurate. We may reasonably restrict access for misuse, security or legal reasons; contact us if you believe a restriction is incorrect.

The app requires an internet connection and may occasionally be unavailable. Tutoring does not guarantee particular marks or results. South African law applies, and nothing here removes your statutory consumer rights or excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. You may raise disputes with us or a competent court or complaints body.

We will publish updates here and give appropriate notice of material changes, obtaining agreement where required. Updates do not retrospectively remove rights from existing bookings.
